Spanning six islands, three lagoons, and 100 hectares of untouched forest, this resort is a natural playground for outdoor adventurers, nature lovers, and those seeking tranquility.
Our relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere is built on authenticity, exceptional service, and a deep respect for the islands’ natural wonders. Daily rates include spa treatments, island activities—both on land and sea—and exquisite cuisine crafted from ingredients grown in Bawah’s own gardens.
Just a 75-minute seaplane ride from Singapore, Bawah Reserve is situated at the heart of a 1,000-hectare marine conservation area. The architectural design is inspired by the captivating atmosphere of the islands, constructed entirely by hand using sustainably harvested bamboo. This dedication to preserving the environment is evident in every aspect of the resort.

About
The Sustainability
Bawah Reserve is a unique resort with a strong commitment to sustainability. Our mission is to protect the islands and surrounding marine ecosystems while supporting local village communities. Guests are invited to explore the beauty of the islands while learning about the environmental and social challenges they face. Here are some key initiatives:
Eco-friendly infrastructure: Built with minimal impact, using natural, locally sourced materials. Examples include recycled copper mirrors, sinks, and bathtubs, and stone paths and foundations.
Solar energy: Floating solar panels generate clean electricity, regulate water temperature, and protect aquatic life.
Reef protection: Our iconic jetty was carefully constructed by divers to avoid damaging the coral reef.
Sustainable amenities: Guests receive reef-friendly toiletries and reusable copper water bottles to reduce plastic waste.
Water conservation: Rainwater harvesting, desalination, and wastewater treatment ensure responsible water use.
Bawah also focuses on marine conservation, with initiatives like reef restoration, sustainable fishing, and turtle nest protection. Our dedicated marine biologists and conservation team actively research, educate, and collaborate with local communities to ensure the long-term health of the Anambas Archipelago.

Bawah Reserve offers four distinct dining experiences, all showcasing fresh, local ingredients with a blend of Indonesian and Mediterranean flavors inspired by the resort’s organic farms and fresh catches. All meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages are included during your stay.
Tree Tops Restaurant: Nestled in the rainforest canopy, this Asian-fusion dining spot combines breathtaking views with fine cuisine. The bamboo structure and jellyfish-inspired light installation create a unique magical atmosphere.
The Boat House: A laid-back, beachfront venue with fresh seafood, barbecued meats, salads, and pizzas. Enjoy ocean views from swinging chairs or sun-loungers, and catch a movie at the ‘Starlight Cinema’ after a barbecue dinner.
Grouper Bar: Situated near the pool, jetty, and beach, this social hub offers morning coffee, light bites, and pre-dinner drinks. By day it’s a casual beach bar; by night, a lounge for Champagne or fine whisky.
Jules Verne Bar: Perched atop the island, this bar pays homage to the famed author. Climb the spiral staircase for stunning views and signature cocktails crafted with fresh, garden-to-glass ingredients like lemongrass and pink peppercorns.
